Southeast Guilford County is a wonderful family oriented area that offers something for every age and interest.
The Forest Oaks Country Club hosts the PGA's tour of the Wyndham Championship. This year the tournament is in August & promises to bring lots of golf enthusiasts to enjoy this wonderful area. Sudden death playoffs have been common for the Forest Oaks course. The club also offers swimming, tennis and fine dining. There are several different levels of membership. Southeast swim club offers a convenient swimming pool with a competitive swim team for the kids. Memberships are available.(Located on SE School Rd.)
The YMCA Outdoor Center is within 5 miles and offers a variety of activities. It's newly renovated cabins are used for Summer camp, church activities, corporate outings and family reunions. They also have a pool, fitness center & horseback riding. Cheerleading and football are offered through the Southeast Youth Athletic Association for ages 6-12.
The area schools stress academics, fitness and community involvement.
Daycare is available through several area churches. Tabernacle Methodist Church and Alamance Presbyterian Church both offer full-time daycare for children 6 weeks of age and older. The YMCA Outdoor Center offers after school care for school age children. Other area churches offer Mother's Morning Out programs.
The new I-85/I-40 bypass, appx. 2 miles away gives easy access to all major highways & all of Guilford County.A new Super Walmart, Lowes, Cracker Barrel, Wendy's and Bojangles are within 2 miles via the bypass.
There are local garden clubs, Southeast Christian Women's Club, bible studies, bridge and tennis groups.
